The Economist’s Society, with the support of the UCL Economics Department, is piloting a new student-led outreach and mentorship scheme in London to support Year 12 and 13 students interested in pursuing an economics degree through every step of the university application process. This will be delivered through an initial interactive within-school presentation, and any students interested in applying for an economics degree can sign up to be added to the email list where we will provide useful information on topics like university choice, applications, career paths and more.
In addition, they personally assigned a DBS-checked UCL Economics student as a mentor, who will answer any questions prospective students may have and assist them throughout the process.
Later in the year, these students will also be invited to a first-year economics lecture, where they can get a taste of the university experience.
If you are a school teacher/administrator and would be interested in this programme for the 2023/24 academic year, please email us at [email protected].
