The Economist's Society is the official student society of the UCL Economics Department. We are dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and are fuelled by a passion for the beauty of theory of Economics. We bring to you a series of distinguished speakers to share our interest in the constantly evolving world of economics and how it interacts with the worlds of politics, technology, current affairs and global issues. More than just an academic society, we also strive to form a sense of belonging and identity with the department and our peers. In short, we are family.

ACADEMIC EVENTSOur goal is to bring in top-quality speakers to share their interesting research, and also their expert knowledge on economics issues. We had speakers such as Nobel Laureates Robert Schiller, Jean Tirole, Lars Peter Hansen and Edward Prescott, along with other distinguished economists like Ha-Joon Chang and Catherine L. Mann.

INTERNAL/ALUMNI RELATIONSThe Internal and Alumni Relations Team acts as the bridge between the Undegraduates, Postgraduates, Affiliate Students and the Department. We aim to build bonds and promote interaction between the student body and the department.
