What differentiates the Economist’s Society at UCL is its focus on academia, providing new opportunities for economists in the real world, and we are well known for our superior socials. This social event brings together all three highlights of our society.
The Economist’s Society’s first ever trip abroad was a three-day journey in Brussels, the heart of Europe, where they experienced the luxury of Belgian chocolate and Belgian beers. And more importantly, had tours of some of the world’s most important institutions such as European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
In October 2015, we launched the second follow on EU Journey: Paris, the city of love. The trip balanced both social and academic activities, having a conference at Paris School of Economics, with Thomas Piketty speaking, trips to both the EU & IMF, whilst having socials and going out for both nights - how could an economist not be in love?!
