As a secretary, you would be involved writing minutes of the various committee meetings, and also managing the society's newsletter. You will also be exposed to the day to day running of the committee, and be involved in the planning and execution of the society's events.
We're looking for someone who is organized, meticulous, responsible, and of course, a team player. Previous experience would be helpful but not a necessity.
2. Academic events officers
As an academic event officer, you would be contacting and inviting potential speakers to UCL, and also coming up with events to value add to the learning experience in the department. You would also be writing reviews for our academic speaker events, on top of being involved in the execution of the event.
We're looking for someone who is interested in various branches of Economics, comfortable with communicating with speakers via emails, in-person or phone call and also possessing a reasonably good command of English. Also, he/she should be able to work independently and as a team
3. Social events officers
A social events officer role is challenging yet really rewarding. You will be involved with the planning and execution of the various social events that we have during the year, including the David Ricardo Ball and the Christmas Party.
We're looking for somebody who is fun, creative and has good ideas. Also, good organisation and communication skills. Previous experience in event planning would be helpful but not a must.
4. Special events officers
A new role within the committee, a special events officer will be involved in organizing ad hoc and/or novel events/initiatives (the possibilities are endless!) for the society and the department. You will also be involved in the inaugural LSE-UCL Economics Conference.
We are looking for somebody with passion, creative and novel ideas to spearhead new events and initiatives in the department. Good organisation skills and being a team player is a must.
5. Marketing officers
The marketing officers' job would be centered around raising awareness about our events by promoting them online, enticing people in person and spreading marketing material. You would also be helping to manage our various marketing platforms.
Good writing skills are a definite plus! On top of that, we are also looking for someone who is well versed in the various social media platform and with a keen eye for design. This year, we are also recruiting a marketing officer with experience in photography to join the marketing team.
